World wide congress for transportation by rope in Rio de Janeiro
The world wide congress for transportation by rope which is organized every 6 years by the international organization for transportation by rope (OITAF), has taken place in Rio de Janeiro from October 24th until the 27th at the Sugar Loaf mountain, one of the most popular postcard views of the world.
With a perfect view across Rio and its attractions such as the Christ the Redeemer statue, the Copacabana beach and the Sugar Loaf mountain itself, the LEITNER lounge is situated high above Rio. Right next to the place where the lectures are held cool cocktails and drinks on ice plus a relaxed atmosphere invite the participants to a refreshing stay – just like in future the new air condition system in the cabins will provide a comfortable ride in a hot environment. This is also the topic of the lounge.
At yesterday’s general assembly of the world wide congress for transportation by rope Martin Leitner was elected the new president for the next 6 years. Markus Pitscheider follows Heinrich Brugger as the general secretary.
The first presentations by LEITNER ( MiniMetro Perugia – the acceptance of the rope driven system in urban areas and the 3S Renon-Bolzano) were followed with great enthusiasm by the participants who had come from all over the world.
